Networking:-

We network with following institutions.

1. Kruna Government rescue home for young girls and women rescued from flesh trade.
2. Various schools in Nagpur and Mansar.
3. Thiripude College of Social Work
4. Hospitals in Nagpur for placement of Nursing Assistant of students for practical training.

Counseling and guidance to young women rescued from flesh trade was organized for the inmates of Karuna. One of our sisters visits karuna regularly every week to council, guide and animate the inmates of Karuna. On an average they were about 50 women every month. Through various methods like songs storytelling and role plays, various values were in culcated in them so that they can think of a different way of life and live with dignity as women and give up Flesh trade. Some of them responded positively.

Thirupude College of Social Work placed 4 MSW Part I students for field work at Vishwodaya. They were guided and animated to take up community building programmes in the slums of Nara and Lourdes Matha Nagar.

 WIODOWS GROUP:-

About 40 widows were animated and oriented to make their life more pleasant and positive. they are encouraged to form Self Help Groups(SHG) . One group of 20 widows is functioning very well as SHG. Seeing the improvement in their group other widows are coming forward. They have regular animation and follow up programs. Another group of daily wage earners are being formed as SHG. All of them attend the regular meetings and are being empowered as group to face the challenges of their life and support each other. We also help the widows to get the widow’s pension under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar yojana.

SUPPORT OF HIV+ WIDOWS AND CHILDREN:-

Aware of the struggle and helplessness of HIV+ women and children (who have lost one parent and some lost both parents), Vishwodaya started home based support to these in the year 2011. With the support of our benefactors we are catering to nearly 100 HIV+ cases of whom 40 to 45 are schools going children from nursery
to class 10th. We provide them school note books, copies and other stationary needed. We
counsel and support them because most of the women live in hiding as their relatives especially their husband’s families do not accept them. We provide them monthly ration of food grains, homemade herbal tonic and protein powder that are prepared by us at Vishwodaya. Dr. Khandker attends to them and treats them with Homeo medicine. All these support increases their CD4 and improve their immune system. The women take house hold job to support themselves. We help them to get the financial assistance provided by the Government under Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana. We celebrate 8th march international Women’s day and Christmas with them. Once a year they are gifted with a set of clothes. All
these little gestures give the HIV cases a sense of being wanted and cared for and we are
happy to see the smile on their faces as they live with hope and dignity.

SCHOOL COUNSELING:-

One of our sisters from Vishwodaya spent three days a week with the students of providence girls High school Nagpur to council the students to cope with different challenges they face in life as teens. sister visits their parents in their Homes to enable and guide them to support their daughters in their crises. During the year she has counseled and helped the moral and psychological growth of more the 500 students and enables them to concentrate on their studies and solve their teenage crises.
